I really enjoyed the first Despicable Me, but was a little disappointed to find that they hadn't aged the girls or created new designs for their clothes. Mind you, it's not like I really did much other than make their clothes larger, but I was out of town and lazy.
After watching the first one again I could see the girls taking over the family business to make their dad proud, so here's a flash forward for them.
I'm still working up the nerve to start their story, but for Bandeau's first appearance you can find her in the third instalment of Corporeal Daughters
But hey! If you like my amateur mistakes, how about checking me out on Facebook? Click the Like button and I'll lick you. Or not. Your call.

This is a lousy, lousy slapped on coloring job over a sketch I really quite like :) Obviously I had no rulers or anything straight enough to use for the sketch, but I had fun regardless.
I always picture Band and Radius' house as being very modern, but simple. After all, Radius is a simple guy and Bandeau is just along for the ride.

I want to draw Bandeau as she's seen through Radius' and Kain's eyes, and this one is how Radius perseeves her. We always see a bit of ourselves in everyone, so he has a harder time seeing her emotional side but always views her as what saved him from a life of pretty much being a zombie soldier. In other words, Radius ain't that deep :P

I'm trying so hard to pull off this whole "digital painting" thing but I suck. I can see the amateur mistakes but I don't know how to fix them (yet). I'll keep trying, but damn is it frustrating!

I am a huge Jane Austen fan, and Mr. Darcy is my favourite character next to Mr. Knightley. For the past few years, I've been a part of a Santa's Workshop group and one of the children requested Mr. Darcy, either as the book or movie version. Well! How could I pass that up?
Unlike 99% of my work, I didn't ink this one. My original pencil lines were so soft (and for once - clean!) that I couldn't make myself ink him. So here he is, in all his sketchy glory!
I hope they like it :D

Excuse me if this post is sluggish, but I'm feeling delightfully plump after a delicious meal.
If you're from or going through Williams Lake, BC, then you need to check out New World Coffee & Tea House. It's one of the few places I frequent, and the only that I enjoy enough to enter on my own to sit and enjoy a cup of tea while working on my notes, or just needing a quiet and friendly place to enjoy life for awhile.
Sue Lachance the hands-on owner and charming host who always greets my husband and I with a smile. If we come in on a Friday, the staff already knows my order: a blue Italian soda and medium bowl of Russian borscht. I try to make it in on as many Friday's as possible because the borscht is reminiscent of my grandmother's recipe and a dish I've missed very much. For as many memories as it brings back, it also creates new ones of good times in my new town.
The hubby and I were thrilled to find that New World is now offering dinner on the first Wednesday of every month. We made our reservations without hesitation, and they did not disappoint! But I managed to disappoint myself as soon as our dinner was served; I'd completely forgotten to bring along my camera! Our meals looked as amazing as they tasted, and I'd even upload images of our leftovers but, well...I've already eaten them...
Logan chose the Stuffed Pork Loin with Sauce Robert and I had the Butter Poached Portabella Mushroom Burger. While both of those were delicious, I almost think the real star was the Roasted Pumpkin and Butternut Squash Soup! It was like dessert in a bowl and the perfect starter (and end!) to a cold night in the Cariboo.
Thanks to the complimentary coffee and tea with dinner, I discovered by new favorite tea: Winter Mulling Spice. Due to a medical condition, I'm stuck with caffeine-free beverages and their list of herbal and fruit teas is a godsend.
It was a great night with a wonderfully savoury meal, but as usual for us it had to end on a sour note. We locked ourselves out of our house! Haha. That's okay, once we made our way back in (after a forty minute drive to get a spare key) I dove into our leftovers and ended the night with a smile on my face.
In the end, we're thrilled New World has decided to do these monthly dinners and we will certainly be back!

| In the meantime I'll cheat and use this image off their website. My husband's favorite lunch option - the Canadian Club wrap. |

I was just over at Kate Worth's blog and found myself sucked into her post about procrastinating while I was - er - procrastinating... Funny how that works, isn't it?
It made me think about my own poor, neglected blog and I realized something. I wanted to write a post! About procrastinating! Which is in fact what I am doing right now.
People often tell me they wish they could be more creative, and I always cringe at that comment. They don't have a clue how tough it can be! When you're creative, you never stop being creative. You want to make every idea that pops into your head and there just aren't enough hours in the day to complete everything.
Eventually, you think of so many projects that you want to start and you feel that damn pressure closing in on your head and your chest. The panic that tells you, "You'll never finish all of this. Not in this lifetime, anyway."
As it stands right now, I am in the middle of NaNoWriMo at 20,540 words (and writing this blog to procrastinate from writing that book) and with Christmas around the corner I want to make a plethora of gifts for my family and friends.
One such gift, is a personalized comic book for my husband. 24 pages, pencilled, inked and coloured in time to be printed and ready for Christmas. Cha! Right...
Through in the list of twelve books I want to write in the next two years (not including the many stories I haven't even thought of yet, but will before 2014) and it's a never ending cycle of "I'll get to it, when I have time."
And then there's this blog. Why is it here? People use blogging to share their feelings or to be successful. Well I don't like to talk about emotions (GASP!) and I will certainly never be successful, especially not if I never stick to one topic to write about because I like to try everything!
More often then not, I find it tedious. Ugh...Sit down and write a post. Why? For who? It's just one more thing to add to my overflowing plate.
Well, for me, I guess. I can escape here. I'm always shocked by the amount of traffic my little corner of the interweb gets and I wonder who the heck finds this interesting? Apparently some of you do, so please, share in my scatterbrainedness and I'll help you procrastinate while I procrastinate.
But just so your procrastination (and mine) is not a complete waste of time, here is a fun fact that I just googled:

The site where the Parthenon was built had to be cleared of hundreds of dinosaur bones (then called giants' bones) before construction could begin.

So there you go, you came here to kill time and learned something new. That wasn't a complete waste, now was it?
